THE THREE FORESTS WAY
The divisions we perceive between places. Ancient forest, manmade road. The shapes we give to experiences. What we think of as a threshold may just be an idea.
A circular path joins three forests. Each far wiser than the city they border. A web of single track, brambly paths and rutty fields, normally reserved for hiking or horses.
There’s an end point, but there are many ways to finish. The idea is to find out which one the day will give us.
You can be in the middle of a field one minute then scrambling through brambles in a forest the next, you feel like you’re a million miles from civilisation but you’re never too far from the M25.
The terrain is so varied and there is no perfect bike for a ride like this, but that’s part of the fun, choosing the right kit and finding the limits of it, changing things up for the next time.
When you’ve been digging deep for a few hours, you start to find your own limits and where that sweet spot is between comfort and discomfort, that’s when you feel that flow state which is a special place to find.
